(Higher) Fractions are your (Higher) Friends
We learned about fractions at a young age when it was time to cut our birthday cakes. With the inflation of cake prices and our growing interest in abstract nonsense, many of us have started serving (higher) categories at our birthday parties instead. In this talk I will tell you about fractions for a couple different flavours of categories and how the axioms required to define these are naturally related to geometric notions of subdivision.
